Where We Come From
Randy Platt, Co-Founder
For Randy, caring for people was simply meant to be.
He was raised by parents who welcomed both his grandparents and great aunt into their family home throughout most of his first 15 years. Randy watched the compassion, love, and deep care his mother provided as they aged. He saw the sacrifices his father made to open their home and support what he believed was right.
His father’s words have guided Randy ever since: “Take care of those who mean the most to you.”
That philosophy isn’t just personal for Randy. It’s the foundation of everything Care Partners does.
Rodney Burris, Co-Founder
Rodney’s perspective on care was shaped differently—as a patient.
He’s experienced more than 14 surgical interventions throughout his life. Each surgery, hospital stay, and discharge left a unique impression. Not all experiences were positive. But most revealed the truly human side of healthcare—physicians, nurses, and support staff who treated him as a person, not just a medical record number.
Those experiences inspire Rodney deeply today. He’s committed to creating care filled with love, trust, and skill—the kind of care he received at his best moments, and wished he’d received at his worst.
Our Journey
Randy’s and Rodney’s collective journeys span more than 50 years in healthcare services and leadership — acute hospital management, physician practice management, skilled home health, hospice, and more.
In 2016, they combined everything they’d learned to build something different. Care Partners was built on one belief: what’s best for the patient and family should drive every decision.
Ten years and 30,000+ families later, that’s still true.

Randy Platt and Rodney Burris founded Care Partners on a belief that the best care starts with the best people. They remain actively involved in the values, culture, and direction of the organization.
Care Coordination
Your care coordinators are the hub of your experience — matching caregivers, managing schedules, fielding your calls, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
Recruiting & Caregiver Development
This team is responsible for finding and developing the caregivers who enter your home. They run the “why” interview process and oversee ongoing training and support.
Business Development & Community Outreach
Our outreach team builds relationships with hospitals, discharge planners, social workers, and community organizations — so families find us when they need us most.
